USF Mgolf: Bulls sign Florida standout Campbell Kennedy

Coming off 4th NCAA Championship appearance, Bulls add second standout to roster


TAMPA, JUNE 6, 2022 – Coming off the programs fourth NCAA Championship appearance, head coach Steve Bradley welcomed another standout player to the USF men’s golf roster as Kennedy Campbell, the No. 5-ranked player in the state of Florida for the Class of 2022, officially joined the Bulls.

The 6-foot, St. Augustine native is ranked No. 74 overall in the nation on the Junior Golf Scoreboard and 61st in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. He finished fourth at the 50th Southern Junior Championship at the Country Club of Charleston in 2022 and posted three top 10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events in 2021-22.

“We are very excited to welcome Kennedy to the Bulls and add one of the top young players in the state of Florida to our team,” Bradley said. “He has grown a lot both physically and in his golf game the last few years and competed at a high level with strong results on tough courses. Kennedy will be a great fit in our team culture as we look to build on our most recent NCAA Championship appearance and add to our conference titles.”

Kennedy was selected as a member and captain of the North Team for the 2021 FSGA Florida Cup, helping lead his team to the championship. In 2021, he won the Florida Junior Tour (FJT) – Exempt Major at the Country Club of Winter Haven and posted eight top-10 finishes on the season, with 13 top-25 finishes in 14 appearances. In 2020, he posted 10 top-10 finishes on the FJT Tour and four top five. In 2019, he had nine top-10 finishes and four top five finishes in 14 FJT tournaments, closing out his tournament schedule with a 7th place finish and final round 65 at the AJGA tournament at Eagle Harbor Golf Club. In 2018, he posted two top-10’s on the FJT Tour and won Player of the Year along with six other awards, one of which was the Jack Nicklaus Award for exemplifying on and off course etiquette, which was voted on by his peers.

Kennedy joins Swedish National Team standout Nino Palmquist (Halmstad, Sweden), ranked No. 3 in the Swedish Under-18 Golf Rankings, in the Bulls’ Class of 2022.

USF men’s golf program has captured 17 conference titles, including in 2021, and have seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five of the last seven American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and have earned nine straight NCAA Regional appearances and four total NCAA Championship berths, including posting a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2021-22 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
