GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jack Rushworth joins the Florida staff as a goalkeeper coach, Gators Head Soccer Coach Samantha Bohon announced Thursday.
“I am thrilled to add Jack to our staff. He comes with a wealth of experience from several programs and brings incredible energy and enthusiasm to the Gator team,” Bohon said. “We can’t wait to welcome Jack and Falon to Gator Soccer.”
Coaching Experience:
Rushworth spent the last season as Utah State’s goalkeeper coach, helping the Aggies to third in the Mountain West Conference, 13 wins, MWC Tournament semifinal appearance, and a No. 7 west-region ranking. Utah State’s Diera Walton earned 2021 All-Mountain West second team honors. Her goals-against-average of 0.86 led MWC goalkeepers in 2021.
Prior to joining the Aggies, Rushworth was Penn State’s volunteer coach for the 2020-21 season. The Nittany Lions advanced to the 2020 NCAA Round of 16 and claimed the Big Ten regular-season title, alongside a No. 11 post-season national ranking and named the United Soccer Coaches North Region coaching staff of the year.
Rushworth was Austin Peay State’s graduate assistant for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, following a year at Tennessee Wesleyan University as a goalkeeper coach, where he helped the program to an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) championship, Elite 8 NAIA national tournament appearance and a No. 11 post-season national ranking.
Playing Career:
Rushworth played at a goalkeeper for Tennessee Wesleyan University from 2014-2018, while playing with Knoxville Force in the NPSL in 2017. He was also a member of the Utah Rangers squad in 2022, playing in the UPSL.
Education
Rushworth received his bachelor’s degree in sports psychology in 2018 and completed a master’s degree in coaching at Austin Peay in 2020. He holds a United Soccer Coaches goalkeeping diploma and a D license with U.S. Soccer.

A York, England native, Rushworth lives with his wife, Falon, and his dog Remi.
