DETROIT – The Detroit Lions announced today that the 2022 Quick Lane Bowl will be played on Monday, December 26 at 2:30 PM ET and will be televised on ESPN. Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center has been the title sponsor of the annual college football bowl game at Ford Field since its 2014 inaugural game. The seventh annual Quick Lane Bowl was played between the Western Michigan Broncos and the Nevada Wolfpack on December 27, 2021, after a year hiatus in 2020 due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The Western Michigan Broncos were looking for their second bowl win in school history after finishing their regular season 7-5. The Nevada Wolf qualified for their fourth straight bowl game with an 8-4 record. Western Michigan controlled the game in every facet and defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack 54-24 to become the 2021 Quick Lane Bowl Champions. The Quick Lane Bowl now features teams from the Big Ten and the Mid-American Conference (MAC); it has also featured teams from the ACC. At the end of the college football season, officials from both conferences meet with bowl officials to determine the best possible matchup and choose their team representatives. The entertainment division, DLI Entertainment, has promoted multiple large-scale shows and events at Ford Field since 2002 and has been home of the MAC Football Championship since 2004. Notably, Garth Brooks set a Ford Field attendance record of 74,000 at his sold-out show on February 22, 2020. DLI has also hosted 10 Kenny Chesney shows with another set to return this summer on August 20, 2022. Also headlining Ford Field this summer is The Weeknd on July 27.
