Marina Escobar continues to pace the Gators and is tied for 3rd overall.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Florida women’s golf team concluded day two of the Albuquerque Regional in 5th place and one stroke back from fourth on Tuesday.
One more round of stroke play remains as the Gators need to be one of the top-4 teams after 54 holes to qualify for the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk.
The Gators started the day in third as No. 1 seed Oregon leads the field at 8-under. Florida shot 296 (+8) and trails fourth-place TCU by a stroke.
Marina Escobar led the lineup for the second straight day as she is tied for 3rd. The top two individuals of non-qualifying teams also advance to the National Championship. She sank a big birdie on 18 to keep Florida in a stroke from the Horn Frogs and finish even (72) on the day.
Shaving five strokes off her first round of 79, Jackie Lucena turned in a 74 (+2). Her birdie on three erased a bogey on two as she shot 12 pars and a birdie the next 13 holes.
Clara Manzalini (T31) went 2-under on the front as both her and Maisie Filler (T44) had rounds of 75 (+3) followed by Annabell Fuller (T21) at 78 (+5).
Florida takes the UNM Championship Course for the final 18 holes at 10 a.m. ET tomorrow.
