Annabell Fuller will make her third appearance at the event that features the top amateur female golfers from Great Britain and Ireland against their counterparts from the United States.
ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – For the third time in her career, Annabell Fuller was selected to the Great Britain and Ireland team for the 2022 Curtis Cup, The R&A announced Monday.
Fuller has competed in the event twice in 2018 and 2021. Last summer, the event was held at Conway Golf Club in Wales after the 2020 schedule tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. The Gator helped win three points in fourball action including two 4&3 victories.
The biennial event matches the top female amateur golfers from Great Britain and Ireland against their counterparts from the United States. Teams – GBI & USA – are made up of eight players that compete in various match play matches in either singles or foursomes.
At the SEC Championships, Fuller finished T30 in stroke play and her 4&3 win helped the Gators defeat Ole Miss 3-2 to advance to the match play semifinals for the first time in program history. She concluded the regular season with a T3 and runner-up finish en route to being named SEC Golfer of the Week.
Fuller is tied for a team-leading four top-10 finishes and recorded a career-low round of 66 (-6) for the second time in her career at the spring opener. To close out March, she made her third appearance in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA).
This year’s event will be played at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa. from June 10-12.
