Bonham averaged 19.6 points over his final 11 appearances last season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida has added VMI transfer Trey Bonham to its roster for the 2022-23 men’s basketball season, head coach Todd Golden announced on Tuesday.
Bonham averaged 13.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game last season, including a 19.6 scoring average over his last 11 appearances. The Mobile, Ala., native earned SoCon All-Freshman honors in 2021.
“Trey is simply a great fit four program,” Golden said. “By advanced metrics, he is one of the most efficient guards in the country while using a high percentage of his teams possessions. He has a great ability to rim-finish and draw fouls at a high level. Most importantly, he’s really proud to be a Florida Gator.”

* A career .487 shooter from the field and .369 from 3-point range, Bonham has totaled 601 points over two collegiate seasons with 36 double-figure scoring performances and six games with 20+ points in 53 career appearances.
* During the 2021-22 season, Bonham posted a .536 percentage from 2-point range and an .831 free throw percentage on more than four attempts per game.
* Posted a career-high 31 points at Samford, going 9-for-13 from the field and making 11 of 12 from the free throw line and added a 26-point game vs. UNC Wilmington.
* Earned SoCon All-Freshman honors in 2020-21, averaging 8.6 points per game.
* Two-time All-State performer in high school, leading UMS-Wright to 25 wins as a senior.
