PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Sam Reinhart

On Gustav Forsling’s recent play:

“He plays with so much speed. [He] creates so much open space up there and he puts himself in the right holes and his timing is impeccable. He creates a lot of looks for himself.”

On Jonathan Huberdeau:“He does everything out there. He is killing penalties; you can see him creating up there on the penalty kill. He is so good at both ends of the ice–that allows him to showcase his skill on a nightly basis and overall consistency that he has. I have been impressed.
Defenseman Gustav Forsling

On his confidence:

“I feel very good. You get a lot of confidence when you score for sure, but you know, you can play good without scoring and have good confidence… but scoring goals is not bad.”

On Bobrovsky’s performance:“I think he looked really good today. He looked like he had a lot of confidence. He looked calm out there.  We need him, and he has been a real big part of our success this year.”

On Team’s recent play:“We are having so much fun here at home for sure. Got the crowd there with us today. It is a lot of fun when we are winning.”

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky

On his franchise-record 36th win of the season:
“To be honest, I didn’t know about that…It’s a team record. It’s not me. It’s all about the team. By myself, I’m nothing. As a team we’re strong, but individually we’re nothing.

“When you play and don’t think about those things. You focus on the moment and one shot at a time, one practice at a time. It is nice for sure. I’m happy with that. I’m happy with how things have gone for me and for the team this year. I just continue to enjoy the game.”

On tonight’s game:
“It was an entertaining game, they had good opportunities. They’re a good team, a fast team. It was great. As I said, it was lots of fun.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On Sergei Bobrovsky’s performance:“I thought he was rock solid tonight. I thought he was dialed in and played really exceptionally well tonight. He’s had a great season…his work as a whole has been pretty impressive. Good for him and another guy in this group that sets franchise milestones here.”

On Huberdeau and Giroux’s performance:
“They’re both highly talented, smart hockey players. It’s fun to see them connect a little bit. They have been trying so hard to connect, probably trying too hard. Tonight was just an example of just playing and things happen…they read off each other really well. It is really nice to see them get a couple goals together.”On Florida’s overall team chemistry:
They really care for each other, and they love playing with each other. They love to watch other people have success and they cheer it on and hope Fors [Gustav Forsling] gets his hat trick. I think that was a big thing for those guys. It just builds that kind of team chemistry, that bonding, that pure love for each other. That is the reason for where we are at.”
