The Gators shot a 281 (-7) in round two and are 5-under overall in x.
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Florida women’s golf team bounced back in round two of the MountainView Collegiate on Saturday shooting 7-under.
A team score of 281 (-7) tied for the fourth-lowest score this season, which the Gators have done twice this year – Mason Rudolph Championship and 50th VyStar Gators Invitational. UF (-5) sits in sixth as San Jose State (-24) leads the field after 36 holes.
The Orange and Blue got off to a great start in Tucson led by Marina Escobar (-3) who posted back-to-back birdies to begin the round and finished with a team-high six. She carded a clean front nine and was 4-under when she made the turn.
Annabell Fuller and Clara Manzalini both ended 2-under on the afternoon as Fuller recorded her second straight low round of the tournament. The low round also marked the eighth of the season by both Gators.
Rounding out the lineup were Maisie Filler and Jenny Kim who sat even on the day with a 72. Kim regrouped after her first round to cut off 10 strokes from yesterday as three Gators – Fuller (-3), Escobar (-1) and Filler (-1) all sit under for the weekend.
Florida tees off the final round tomorrow at MountainView Golf Club at 11 a.m. ET.
