GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 13th-ranked Florida lacrosse team (2-4) returns home to Donald R. Dizney Stadium Wednesday for a matchup against the third-ranked Syracuse Orange (6-1). Opening draw is for 6:30 p.m.
This is Florida’s fifth Top-10 opponent during the nonconference slate thus far.

The Gators and the Orange are meeting for the 13th time in program history, with Syracuse holding the 8-4 series advantage. The last time these two teams faced off was in the 2021 NCAA Quarterfinal on May 22, 2021 in Syracuse, N.Y. The Orange took the game 17-11.
In its last contest, Florida fell to the ninth-ranked Loyola Greyhounds 12-9, while Syracuse topped No. 14 Virginia 17-11 on Saturday.

* Seven Syracuse players also found themselves as Preseason Inside Lacrosse All-Americans: Emily Hawryschuk, Meaghan Tyrrell and Sarah Cooper earned first-team accolades, while Sam Swart was a second-team honoree. In addition, Megan Carney, Emma Tyrrell and Emma Ward were honorable mention selections
* Through the first seven games of the season, Meaghan Tyrrell (28g, 7a), Megan Carney (19g, 9a), Emily Hawryschuk (19g, 9a) and Emma Tyrrell (15g, 12a) are leading the way offensively
* E. Tyrrell and Katelyn Mashewske are leading the way in the draw circle for Syracuse, posting 42 and 36, respectively
* On the defensive end, Katie Goodale and Sarah Cooper have each recorded 11 caused turnovers in the seven games this season
* Kimber Hower has seen a majority of minutes in the cage this season, recording 27 saves with a .333 save percentage. Delaney Sweitzer has also seen time between the pipes, recording nine saves with a .231 save percentage in 150:00 of play
