PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Sam Reinhart

On Anton Lundell’s two goal performance:

“He seems to put himself in the right areas. He is so smart offensively at finding those holes. We were able to get the puck to him tonight, and he’s a finisher.”

On the team’s play in the last two games:

“I think when we play with that pace, there is [limited] room for the opposition. On a night like tonight, when you know where the team is at off of back-to-back, you put that much more emphasis on the pace early. I thought we did a good job at that tonight.”

Forward Anton Lundell

On the compete level of his linemates:
“I know if we keep going that way the whole game, we’re going to get some one, two, three, really good chances. Then it’s up to us—if we score, everyone’s happy, if we don’t, we need to create more [chances]. But every game we get some chances, it’s just about if we can use those chances to score goals.”

On the performance of the power play:
“We just try to do our best every time we go. I think we have been supporting each other even better. We are all more and more on the same page. That really helps us to get some chances and a couple goals too.”
Defenseman Lucas Carlsson

On confidence with playing with the Panthers:
“It has been a great year. They have given me confidence every day. To play on this team is inspiring and they help me.”

On defensive success the last two games:
“We are closing out the neutral zone. That is the biggest part and obviously Bob (Bobrovsky) in net has been unbelievable. We are just working really hard for Bob and we did a great job.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On Anton Lundell’s performance tonight:
“Nothing really surprises me about the kid anymore. He was excellent all game, his line was really good. You almost expect it of him–that’s kind of a thing with him.”

On Lucas Carlsson’s goal:
“That was awesome. Carly Orr. It was really good to see other guys chip in, and it was beautiful goal. Really happy for him.

On winning two games in a row:
“I think [the players] recharged their batteries a little bit. Coming off a break I don’t think our energy level wasn’t quite where it needed to be. This group realizes where they want to be and where they want to go. It’s not too hard to motivate them. I think they want to be great. They recognize the home games are huge and I thought they brought a lot of energy, and like I said earlier, I thought they were relentless on pucks. And when we’re relentless, when we have [the puck], we’re a pretty fun team.”
