BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s basketball team continues its four game homestand when it faces UTEP on Feb. 26. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Blazers’ four seniors – Emily Frasco, Sara Rosenfeldt, Claudia Armato and Zakyia Weathersby will be honored prior to tipoff.
UAB LATELY
UAB (14-12, 8-8 C-USA) was a 57-50 winner over UTSA on Feb. 23, halting a four-game setback.
UTEP LATELY
UTEP (14-11, 6-9 C-USA) snapped its four-game losing steak with an 86-79 overtime victory at Southern Miss on Feb. 19.
UAB AND UTEP HISTORY
The series began in 1990 with a UAB 61-41 victory. The series went on hiatus for 16 years, resuming in 2006. Overall, the Blazers lead the series 14-11 and 11-8 in Conference USA play. The teams have met five times in the C-USA Championship with the Miners holding a 3-2 edge. UAB leads the series at Bartow Arena 7-2.
LAST TIME AGAINST UTEP
Emily Klaczek’s 3-pointer with eight seconds left in regulation send the game into overtime and UAB outscored UTEP 7-5 in the extra period in its 76-74 victory in the Conference USA opener on Dec. 30, 2021.

She’s second in the league in blocks per game and total blocks (1.96/51) and is fourth in field goals made (156).

WORLD CLASS KLACZEK
Emily Klaczek set a career-high with 26 points in UAB’s 86-70 win over WKU on Jan. 27. She scored 16 points in the 2nd quarter, going 5-for-5 from the field, 4-of-4 from 3-point range and a pair of foul shots.
EIGHT IS ENOUGH
In Daniels career day against MVSU, she drained eight 3-pointers. This is the most in C-USA this season and tied for the 11th most in the NCAA this season.
