CMA CGMA world leader in shipping and logistics, has consolidated its CAGEMA Mainliner service in South Florida to Port Everglades, which will serve as the single U.S. port of entry for the Marseilles-based ocean carrier’s direct route to the Islands.
The CAGEMA service is anticipated to generate up to 300-350 container moves weekly through Florida International Terminal, which is the terminal operator for CMA CGM at Port Everglades.
“We have had the pleasure of working with CMA CGM this past year and are pleased that they decided to consolidate their South Florida calls in Port Everglades,” said Port Everglades Chief Executive and Port Director Jonathan Daniels. “CMA CGM’s commitment to our port demonstrates the solid performance by Florida International Terminals.”
Southbound ports of call on the CAGEMA Loop 2 service for Port Everglades include Kingston, Jamaica, as well as Point Lisas and Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. The Northbound route includes Saint George’s, Grenada; Kingston, Jamaica; and Lafito and Cap-Haitien, Haiti, before returning to Port Everglades.
Southbound ports of call on the CAGEMA Loop 3 Service for Port Everglades include Nassau, Bahamas; Kingston, Jamaica; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Fort-de-France, Martinique; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia; and Campden Park, St. Vincent. The northbound route includes Jamaica and Savannah, before returning to Port Everglades.
Vessels are 100 percent operated by CMA CGM and carry breakbulk and out-of-gauge (OOG) cargoes.
