Smith led the Gators’ effort in victories over No. 7 Tennessee and No. 14 Georgia.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Graduate leader Kiara Smith earned her second Southeastern Conference Player of the Week award after stellar performances against No. 7 Tennessee and No. 14 Georgia last week, the SEC announced Tuesday afternoon.
In another pair of victories over top 25 foes, Smith averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Her efforts helped the Gators earn their first top 25 ranking since December 2016, entering the AP poll at 19th this week.
Against No. 7 Tennessee, Smith tallied 25 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals en route to an 84-59 victory over the Lady Volunteers. She followed that performance with a 10-point, eight-rebound, two-assist and two-steal game against No. 14 Georgia on Sunday.
Smith moved into 15th all-time in school history with 1,412 career points.
Smith was also named SEC Player of the Week on January 25 for performances against No. 11 LSU and No. 23 Kentucky.
