NATURALIZATION CEREMONY

During halftime of Sunday’s game, 74 Florida residents will gather at TIAA Bank Field for a naturalization ceremony and complete their final step on their journey to U.S. citizenship. This is the fourth time the Jaguars have hosted a naturalization ceremony, and the team remains the only NFL team to ever do so. Jaguars Owner Shad Khan is a first-generation immigrant who himself went through the ceremony in 1991. This year’s participants originate from 32 different countries, spanning the globe from Albania to Vietnam, and range in age from 19 to 66 and include active-duty members of the U.S. Navy, health care workers, IT managers and married couples. The Honorable Marcia Morales Howard, United States District Court Judge, will administer the Oath of Allegiance. Each of these lawful permanent residents has met all the requirements under the law for citizenship.
