USF hosts 38 home games in the 56-game slate, including five tournaments
TAMPA, FLA. Dec. 14, 2021 – The University of South Florida softball team begins its 2022 campaign with a four-game weekend invitational starting Feb. 10, head coach Ken Eriksen announced on Tuesday.
Overall, the Bulls will play nearly 70 percent of its games at USF Softball Stadium, which will return to full capacity for the season. All home games will also be broadcast on the ESPN+ platform in conjunction with the AAC’s new 12-year television rights agreement with the streaming service. Subscriptions are $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year.

The Bulls open their season on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. against Illinois State as part of the USF-Rawlings Invitational. South Florida’s other matchups that weekend include University of Missouri – Kansas City (Feb. 11), Michigan (Feb. 12) and Florida (Feb. 13).
Eriksen’s squad then heads across the Bay to participate in ESPN’s St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, consisting of games against Notre Dame on Feb. 18, Oklahoma State on Feb. 19, and a doubleheader against Auburn and Wisconsin on Feb. 20.
The Bulls return home the following weekend for a tournament against St. John’s, St. Joe’s and Fairfield. After round-robin play on Feb. 25 and 26, the teams will advance to bracket play on Feb. 26 and 27.
The Bulls go back on the road for a midweek doubleheader against FGCU on March 2, but quickly reset at home for another weekend tournament against Illinois-Chicago (March 4, 5), Florida A&M (March 4, 6), and Army (March 5).
Following a midweek doubleheader at home against Stetson on March 9, the Bulls host Army, Stony Brook, Ohio State and UMass on March 11-13 for a weekend set. South Florida follows with two days off followed by a stretch of nine games in seven days consisting of games against Niagara (March 16), Lehigh (March 18), Ohio State (March 17, 19), Purdue (March 17, 19), Canisius (March 20, 22) and St. Thomas (March 20).
USF then opens conference play, which returns to three-game series formats, as UCF visits Tampa for the War on I-4 series from March 25-27. The Bulls then go on the road at East Carolina from April 1-3, before hosting Wichita State from April 8-10.
The Bulls wrap up nonconference play with midweek matchups at Jacksonville, a doubleheader on April 13, and at Florida, a single game on April 20.
Conference play returns on April 22 as South Florida travels to Tulsa for a three-game series, followed by its home finale against Houston from April 29-May 1. USF’s regular season concludes the following week on the road against Memphis (May 6-8).
The 2022 American Athletic Conference Tournament will be hosted by ECU in Greenville, N.C. from May 12-14, followed by the opening of the NCAA tournament May 21 with regional play.
The Bulls return half of its starting lineup from the 2021 season, which saw the team reach the NCAA Regional finals. Senior pitcher Georgina Corrick (Sanford, Fla.), who will lead the Bulls in the circle, is in striking distance of many school and conference career records as well as other milestones. Leading hitter and base-stealer Alexis Johns (Sarasota, Fla.) also returns.
South Florida is coming off a 31-19 campaign in which they finished second in the conference and earned the program’s 15th berth to the NCAA tournament. The team reached the regional finals and received votes in the final polls of the season.
Fans wanting to buy season tickets to softball games can do with the USF Double Play Pass. The USF Double Play Pass includes season tickets to every home game for both baseball and softball for a cost of $75. Single game tickets will be available in January.
