LIONS WEEK 13 POST-GAME NOTES

The following are post-game notes and quotes from the Detroit Lions’ 29-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021.
POST-GAME NOTES
LIONS SCORING PLAYS

  • Second Quarter: QB Jared Goff threw a nine-yard touchdown to TE T.J. Hockenson to give Detroit a 7-6 lead with 13:50 left in the half. K Riley Patterson made the extra point.
  • Second Quarter: QB Jared Goff threw a 23-yard touchdown to TE Brock Wright with 9:45 left in the quarter to give Detroit a 14-6 lead. K Riley Patterson made the point-after attempt.
  • Second Quarter: K Riley Patterson kicked a 31-yard field goal to extend Detroit’s lead to 17-6 with 1:33 left in the half.
  • Second Quarter: K Riley Patterson made a 41-yard field goal to push Detroit’s lead to 20-6 with six seconds left in the half.
  • Third Quarter: K Riley Patterson made a 49-yard field goal with 1:56 left in the quarter to give Detroit a 23-15 lead.
  • Fourth Quarter: WR Amon-Ra St. Brown caught an 11-yard pass from QB Jared Goff as time expired to lift Detroit to a 29-27 win.
    THE LIONS…
  • Marched 75 yards with 1:50 left in the game and no timeouts, scoring the game-winning touchdown with no time on the clock.
  • Only had two penalties for 11 yards on the day.
  • Scored 20 points in the second quarter of the game, the most they’ve posted in the second quarter of a game since 2017.
  • Had six different players record a tackle for loss, the most in a game since they totaled six vs. Green Bay on Dec. 3, 2015.
    INDIVIDUAL NOTES
    P JACK FOX
  • Punted three times for 166 yards (55.3 avg., 47.7 net), booming a long of 62 yards.
  • Produced his fifth-career game averaging at least 55.0-or-more yards per punt. No other Lions punter has more than three such games.
    QB JARED GOFF
  • Completed 25-of-41 passes (61.0%) for 296 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, posting a 97.2 passer rating.
  • Logged the ninth game-winning drive of his career and the seventh fourth-quarter comeback of his career.
  • Produced a passer rating of 90.0-or-more for the fifth time in six home games this season.
  • Has produced 20-or-more completions in 10 of his 11 games played this season. This is tied for the second-most through the first 12 games of a season for Detroit.
  • Had five completions of 20-or-more yards.
  • Posted a 150.4 passer rating in the first half, the fourth-highest in the first half of a game in franchise history when attempting
    at least 15 passes.
    OLB CHARLES HARRIS
  • Finished with two solo tackles, four quarterback hits, 2.0 sacks, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble. He has now upped his team lead and career high to 6.0 sacks this season.
  • Produced the first multi-sack game of his career.
  • Along with 1.0 sack in Detroit’s first meeting with Minnesota, he now has 3.0 sacks against the Vikings this season. This is the most by a Lions player against the Vikings in a season since DT Ndamukong Suh in 2014.
    TE T.J. HOCKENSON
  • Registered four receptions for 49 yards (12.3 avg.) and one touchdown.
  • Produced a touchdown reception for the second-straight game.
  • Now has 12-career touchdown receptions, the most a Lions tight end has produced through three career seasons.
    CB JERRY JACOBS
  • Logged seven solo tackles, one quarterback hit and two tackles for loss.
  • He joins CB Chris Cash (2002) as the only rookies in franchise history to produce seven pass defenses, three tackles for loss and one forced fumble in a season, and is the only undrafted rookie to do so.
    OLB JULIAN OKWARA
  • Logged two tackles (one solo), 1.0 sack, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery, the first of his career.
  • Is now the first Lion to produce 3.0 sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery in a season since Cliff Avril and Stephen Tulloch in 2011.
    K RILEY PATTERSON
  • Finished three-of-three (100.0%) on field goal attempts and two-of-two on extra points (100.0%) for 11 points scored on the day.
  • His three field goals converted came on the first three attempts of his career.
  • Became the first Lions rookie kicker to convert three field goals in a game since K Jason Hanson in 1992.
    WR AMON-RA ST. BROWN
  • Recorded 10 receptions for 86 yards (8.6 avg.) and one touchdown. His touchdown came on an 11-yard strike as time expired.
  • He is the first Lions rookie wide receiver to score a walk-off touchdown since the merger.
  • His 10 receptions tie for the second-most a Lions rookie has posted in a game and tie for the most by a Lions rookie wide receiver in a game, joining WR Jason Phillips, who did so on Dec. 17, 1989.
  • He now has 49 receptions this season, the most a Lions rookie wide receiver has posted through the first 12 games of his career.
    RB JAMAAL WILLIAMS
  • Recorded 17 rushes for 71 yards (4.2 avg.) and one reception for nine yards, totaling 80 scrimmage yards on the day.
  • He has produced 60-or-more yards in four of his five home games this season.
    TE BROCK WRIGHT
  • Caught two passes for 28 yards (14.0 avg.) and one touchdown.
  • Scored his first-career touchdown on a 23-yard reception.
  • Became the first undrafted rookie tight end to score a touchdown for Detroit since TE Joseph Fauria in 2013.
