Mitchell Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

BOCA RATON, Fla. – John Mitchell has been named to the 2021 College of Sports Information Directors Association District 4 All-Academic team, as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.
 
Academic All-District teams are selected by CoSIDA and recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in academics and athletics. Mitchell, in his fifth season at FAU, is also a nominee for the 2021 Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year and was a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy.
 
The Tallahassee, Florida native is an FAU graduate student that completed his undergraduate degree with a 3.56 GPA in biological science. Currently, he is continuing that focus and aspires to become a medical doctor. Athletically, he has appeared in 43 games as an Owl, recorded 64 receptions, 800 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, playing both wide receiver and tight end.
