| No. 1 Lamborghini’s GTD Title Hopes Dimmed Following Incident November 13, 2021 By Mark Robinson IMSA Wire Service  BRASELTON, Ga. – The No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-05, trying to maintain its slim Daytona Prototype international (DPi) championship lead, held the overall Motul Petit Le Mans race lead at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta after four hours of the 10-hour endurance race on Saturday. Motul Petit Le Mans: Four-Hour Results With reigning DPi champion Ricky Taylor at the wheel, the No. 10 Acura was leading the No. 5 Mustang Sampling/JDC-Miller MotorSports Cadillac V.R driven by Loic Duval with six hours remaining. Six of the seven cars in the DPi class had already led at some point in the race on the 12-turn, 2.54-mile Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta road course. The No. 10 Acura leads the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Racing Cadillac by nine points heading into the race. Whichever car finishes better at the race conclusion wins the championship. Other class leaders after four hours were: in Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), the No. 52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA LMP2 07; in Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3), the No. 30 Jr III Racing Ligier JS P320; in GT Le Mans (GTLM), the No. 4 Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C8.R; and in GT Daytona (GTD), the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3R. Season championships in two classes were clinched by cars starting the race. The No. 52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA and No. 3 Corvette wrapped up titles in the LMP2 and GTLM classes, respectively, by starting the race. The title battle in GTD took a dramatic turn less than two hours into the race when the No. 1 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 – which trailed the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3R by 41 points – was involved in a Turn 10 incident with the No. 7 Forty7 Motorsports Duqueine D08 LMP3. The No. 1 Lamborghini sustained right rear damage, with driver Madison Snow taking the car directly to pit lane. The car spent more than 20 minutes in the garage area undergoing repairs before returning. The No. 1 trailed the GTD leaders by 14 laps at the four-hour mark. The Motul Petit Le Mans is also the fourth and final round of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, with points awarded at the four-, eight- and 10-hour junctures. By leading at the four-hour mark, the No. 10 Acura opened a six-point lead over the No. 55 Mazda Motorsports Mazda RT24-P in the DPi class. In LMP2, The No. 52 PR1 Mathiasen ORECA and No. 8 Tower Motorsport ORECA are now tied in the Michelin Endurance Cup standings. The No. 74 Riley Motorsports Ligier has already clinched in LMP3. The No. 4 Corvette has overtaken the No. 3 Corvette by a point in GTLM, and the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche has pulled a three-point advantage over the No. 9 Pfaff Porsche in GTD.
