• Kicker Cole Hussung (Floyds Knobs) is the lone Wolverine on the roster native to the Hoosier State.
• U-M is among the top 20 in the country in both scoring offense and scoring defense this season, listing 20th in offense (37.1 points per game) and 10th in defense (17.1 points allowed per game).
• The offense has produced 38 plays of 20-plus yards with an even balance of 21 passing, 17 rushing. The Wolverines have scored nine touchdowns of 50-plus yards this season including a season-long 93-yard score last weekend to freshman wide receiver Andrel Anthony. The team has scored in 27 of a possible 32 total quarters of play.
• After the 93-yard score to Anthony (No. 2 longest pass play in U-M history), quarterback Cade McNamara now owns two of the four longest passing plays in program history (87 yards to Cornelius Johnson vs. Northern Illinois, 2021).
• McNamara’s 383 passing yards at Michigan State were a career-high and one yard shy of the single-game best performance in series history (Shea Patterson, 384 yards, 2019).
• The rushing duo of Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins continues to pace the offensive attack that has a run game ranked No. 7 in the country (239.9 yards per game). They are tied with each other to rank 18th nationally in rushing touchdowns with 10 apiece.
• The offensive line continues to shut down opposing pass rushers and limit negative plays. The unit leads the Big Ten and the NCAA having allowed just 10 tackles for loss (1.25 average) and three sacks (0.38 average) all season.
• The edge duo of Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo (7.0 sacks each) are tied for the lead in the Big Ten in sack production, sharing the No. 13 ranking nationally. Ojabo has gotten a share of a sack in the last four straight games after Hutchinson began the year with a four-game sack streak.
• The defense lists top-20 in six major categories: scoring (10th), first downs allowed (13th), pass defense, total defense (16th), pass efficiency against, and third down conversion percentage allowed (19th).
• U-M has a 12:5 turnover ratio this season and has multiple interceptions on defense in four straight games. Daxton Hill leads the teams in interceptions (2) and pass breakups (eight). Ten (10) different players have at least one interception or fumble recovery on defense.
• Nineteen (19) total players have at least one pass breakup (45 total). That is tied for the highest number of players with at least one PBU in a single season in the last 25 years (since 1997).
• Kicker Jake Moody averages 10.6 points per game, making him the No. 9 scorer in the country. He has converted on 13 of his last 14 attempts. Moody’s 85 points so far this year lead the team following a 15-point day in East Lansing.
• Punter Brad Robbins continues to be a weapon in the field position game. Robbins has yielded just 21 return yards on 24 punts, averaging 45.0 yards per attempt with 12 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and only one touchback.
• The duo’s success has led to excellence in special teams, including the nation’s No. 2 kick return defense (12.62-yard average) and No. 11 net punt coverage unit (43.25-yard average).
• Both return men are among the nation’s best, too, with Corum ranking 20th in kick return yard average and AJ Henning ranking 10th in punt return average.
