PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Sam Reinhart

On tonight’s game:

“I think tonight I felt a lot more comfortable. We were able to have the puck a little bit more—it’s a lot easier when you have it. I think there’s still a few things to tighten up defensively, but overall, I think this was a really important game for myself and I’m pretty sure everyone else.

“There was a lot of things clicking [in that first period]. On the other end of it, [we were] flying in on the same day as a game, so I don’t know if you can take that for granted, but with that being said, I liked the jump we had early.”

On the Florida-Tampa rivalry:

“It’s awesome. It’s great to be a part of. The season hasn’t even started for real yet, so, you know I think it’s been important to play a couple and to be in all of them for myself the last week or so. Tonight felt most like a real hockey game, so, it was huge for me personally to get under my belt.”

Forward Anton Lundell

On tonight’s game:

“I felt pretty good… We had a strong game [tonight] and got some good chances as well… Thursday was [my] first game, I was pretty nervous, and it was good to get that out of the way and now we can play real hockey.”

On his first time playing in the Panthers arena in front of the home crowd:

“[I enjoyed it very] much, it was a big boost for me to play in front of the whole crowd and to see all the red jerseys there. Yeah, it was pretty fun to see some fans here, too. I’ve been watching the game from the other side, but when I was playing it was unbelievable.”

Head Coach Joel Quenneville

On the start of the regular season this Thursday:

“[For] the guys, this is what it’s all about. You want to make sure there’s some things you get through before you exit the training camp and leave it on a positive note…. Guys want to play real games. You see the same team three times you know, so. Now we want the ones that count.”
