GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A beam went from blank steel to a sturdy autograph collection Friday as University Athletic Association coaches and administrations joined Level Architecture and Charles Perry Partners staff to celebrate the topping out of the Gator Soccer and Lacrosse Team Building at the Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
The signature-filled beam will be added to the site as construction continues with an expected competition date in March 2022.
“We talk about creating a championship experience with integrity and usually when you get a chance for a construction project, it impacts one of our 21 sports,” UF Athletics Director Scott Stricklin said. “This is a unique project where you actually are enhancing two sports. It’s going to have a huge impact on both our lacrosse and soccer programs.”
Gator Coaches Said:
“An amazing space for Gators soccer is coming soon. The team and coaches are excited for this spring when the locker room, video area, sports medicine, team lounge and more will be ready for the Gators.”
Florida Head Coach Tony Amato
“We already had one of the nation’s top collegiate lacrosse facilities so this project brings even more to Gator lacrosse. The enhancements and additions will certainly be a benefit for our team and staff. “
Florida Head Coach Amanda O’Leary
