BIRMINGHAM –The UAB women’s soccer team will host Alabama State at BBVA Field on Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
THE SERIES VS. ALABAMA STATE
Although the two schools are approximately 90 miles apart, the Blazers and Hornets have only met two times – during the 2019 and 2020-21 seasons. UAB has dominated both games, winning 5-0 in the inaugural matchup and 8-1 last season.
SCOUTING ALABAMA STATE
ASU is coming off a 1-0 loss to Gardner-Webb on Sunday. Isabella Beortegui and Camila Jiminez lead ASU with a pair of goals and four points each. Keeper Sheila Sanchez has played every minute for the Hornets and has a goals against average of 1.96.

The Blazers are 5-0-0 against schools currently playing in the SWAC.
