Baseball
Mark Kolozsvary<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__floridagators.com_roster.aspx-3Frp-5Fid-3D14678&d=DwIFAg&c=sJ6xIWYx-zLMB3EPkvcnVg&r=o5LKAX7slotfFMyE71jI7L22NYBIi1-KbRGNSXudTPo&m=4HUtjIM43qhHIh087Ecy3sELnKIAY14em7UMWDPhTuI&s=C0t-hR5FYpRD14aE27OEah_A1VuRqc9kI-9AwZNzfEA&e= > and Team USA advanced to the gold-medal semifinals at Tokyo 2020 with a 3-1 win over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday morning.
For the fourth time in as many games to open Olympic play, Kolozsvary started behind the plate for the Stars and Stripes. The former Gator caught all nine innings as Team USA pitchers combined for nine innings of one-run ball, allowing just five hits while striking out eight.
Powering the team to a 3-1 record, Kolozsvary has caught all 37 innings for the United States in Tokyo.
With the win, Team USA advances to play Korea in the gold-medal semifinals on Thursday, Aug. 5 at 6 a.m. ET. While a win on Thursday would send the United States to the gold-medal game scheduled for Saturday, a loss would still result in a bid to the bronze-medal game this upcoming Friday.
