82-Game Schedule Features Matchups Against all 31 NHL Opponents, Opening Oct. 14 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers, in conjunction with the National Hockey League, today announced their schedule for the 2021-22 regular season.
The Panthers open the regular season at home at BB&T Center hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, Oct. 14 and the New York Islanders on Saturday, Oct. 16.
“We are so excited to return to a traditional 82-game season for 2021-22 at BB&T Center. Panthers fans can enjoy all 31 NHL opponents including exciting matchups expanding into April and featuring key opponents on holiday weekends,” said Panthers President & CEO Matt Caldwell. “We are grateful for the support of our fans and Territory Members and can’t wait to welcome everyone back on opening night.”
NEW YEAR, NEW HOCKEY
The schedule is highlighted by a holiday back-to-back set against the New York Rangers on Dec. 29 and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Dec. 30 as well as a New Year’s Day matchup against the Montreal Canadiens.
IT’S A HOCKEY NIGHT IN SOUTH FLORIDA
25 games of the Florida Panthers 2021-22 home slate will take place on Thursday and Saturday with 14 Thursday matchups and 11 Saturday games on the docket.
SUNSHINE STATE BATTLE
Florida will welcome its cross-state rival and back-to-back Stanley Cup Champion, the Tampa Bay Lightning on Dec. 30 and April 24, visiting them at Amalie Arena on Oct. 19 and Nov. 13. The two teams met in the postseason for the first time in franchise history in 2021 and will look to keep the rivalry alive.
HOT MATCHUPS AT HOME
The Cats will welcome back their Atlantic Division opponents:
- Boston Bruins Oct. 27
- Buffalo Sabres Dec. 2, April 8
- Detroit Red Wings March 5, April 21
- Montreal Canadiens Jan. 1, March 29
- Ottawa Senators Dec. 14, March 3
- Tampa Bay Lightning Dec. 30, April 24

NEWEST OPPONENT
The Florida Panthers will host the league’s latest franchise, the Seattle Kraken, over Thanksgiving Weekend on Nov. 27. The Panthers will make their first trip to Seattle on Jan. 23, 2022.
MARCH MADNESS
The Cats will head out for their longest road stretch in March visiting the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs between March 13 and 27. The Panthers will play nine away games in this month.
