GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida saw 77 student-athletes named to the 2020-21 Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll by league commissioner Greg Sankey. Grades from the 2020-21 academic year determine the 2021 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
Today’s announcement brings Florida’s total of student-athletes named to a 2020-21 SEC Academic Honor Roll to a program-record 378, which is 70 percent of UF’s student-athletes. Florida placed 301 on SEC Academic Honor Rolls (107 on fall list; 62 winter, 132 on spring) and 77 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
2021 SEC Freshman Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year Claire Bryant earned a berth on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. Bryant is one of five Gators who earned both SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll status and 2021 All-America accolades.

Three Gator teams – lacrosse, soccer, men’s tennis – saw every possible newcomer who was at UF for the entire 2020-21 academic year earn SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll accolades.
To be recognized to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
