GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida outfielder Jud Fabian was named a Third Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Thursday.
Although the announcement marks Fabian’s first career regular season All-American accolade, it comes on the heels of the Gator outfielder’s 2021 First Team All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive Team status.
As a third-year player, Fabian is currently tied for sixth in the country and ranks second in the SEC with 20 home runs on the season. Fabian also ranks fifth in the SEC in walks (40), tied for seventh in total bases (126), 12th in slugging percentage (.581) and tied for 12th in runs scored (51).
By clubbing two home runs against Georgia on May 15 for his fourth two-homer game of the campaign, Fabian became just the fifth player in Florida baseball history to hit 20 home runs in a single season. Overall, the Ocala, Fla. native is slashing .258/.375/.581 with 30 extra-base hits, 10 doubles, 46 RBI and six stolen bases to go with two outfield assists and a .984 fielding percentage defensively.
Fabian and the Gators next hit the field on Friday, June 4 against South Florida in the opening game of the 2021 NCAA Gainesville Regional at Florida Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET with coverage on SEC Network.
