Men’s Golf Earns No. 6 seed in Noblesville Regional
The Bulls will travel to The Sagamore Club for their eighth-straight regional appearance
TAMPA, May 5, 2021 – The USF Bulls men’s golf team is heading to its eighth consecutive NCAA Regional. The Bulls will travel North to Indiana as the sixth seed in the Ball State/Noblesville, Ind. Regional, the NCAA announced on Wednesday. The event will be held May 17-19 at The Sagamore Club.
The complete Noblesville Regional field consists of (in order of seeding): Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, North Florida, Louisville, South Florida, UAB, Duke, UNCW, Arkansas State, Campbell, UT Martin and Loyola Chicago.
Led by five time AAC Coach of the Year Steve Bradley, USF is one of five automatic qualifiers in the Noblesville Regional field, having won their conference championship. North Carolina (ACC), Campbell (Big South), UT Martin (Ohio Valley) and Loyola Chicago (Missouri Valley) are the others. The remaining eight teams were at-large selections to the regional.
The Bulls won the 2021 American Championship by five strokes after shooting a conference tournament record 18-under-par 270 in the opening round, and prevailing with the third-lowest score in AAC history at the conclusion of the championship, shooting 17-under-par 847.
Albin Bergstrom was the individual medalist at the American Championship, storming back from three off the lead on the final day to win by three strokes. Bergstrom became the fourth Bull in program history to win championship medalist honors.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 17-19. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA finals.
The 2021 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship will be held on May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Bulls have advanced to the NCAA Championship three times (1987, 2015 and 2016).

USF men’s golf program has captured 16 conference titles and seen players earn 18 All-America honors. From 2015-18 the Bulls captured four consecutive American Athletic Conference Championship titles in wire-to-wire fashion, had three individual conference champions and have earned seven straight trips to NCAA Regionals. The program is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year four times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 19 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2021 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
