PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES – MARCH 13, 2021
Head Coach Joel Quenneville
“Guds [defenseman Radko Gudas] has some impact on changing the complexion of games with the physicality that he brings. Duke [forward Anthony Duclair] had good speed…we didn’t want to change lines but we wanted to get him back in the lineup. Good to have him back and I though his speed was very dangerous.”
“We had an excellent (third) period. Outside of the goal we gave up, I thought we did everything right as far as playing the right way with the score. It was one of those periods where all the lines were doing the right thing and scoring the fourth one certainly helped.”
“They (Chicago) had several plays around the net, I thought he (Bobrovsky) was very quick and closed it quick. He was finding pucks, looked really solid, really sharp. Continued to do what he has to do which is be consistent and give us a chance to win every night.”
Forward Anthony Duclair
“It was great to come back. You never like to be injured and watch the boys from the press box, but we have an unreal medical staff here that took great care of me. Just happy to be back playing with these guys and getting some wins.”
“For me, taking this time off was pretty eye opening, watching the game from a different perspective. Just trying to get a read on guys, but when it comes to Carter (Verhaeghe) and Barky [forward Aleksander Barkov] we have that instant chemistry. We just want to keep going with that for sure.”
“Gudy’s [defenseman Radko Gudas] a guy that’s very physical, he can switch the momentum any shift. It’s great to have him out there banging bodies. Like to have him as a teammate and not playing against him for once.”
Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky
“I just stay focused with the moment and play and try to do my thing. Came up with the big save and the guys took care of it. It was a great penalty kill to start the game to give us confidence and a boost of energy.”
“It’s a process that’s gone on from game one. You’re mind becomes more and more relaxed, you see the game better, and you feel more and more comfortable the more and more you play. I feel great physically and mentally.”
“We have great skilled guys up front and it’s fun to watch how they create scoring chances and how they play there. I feel like we have a good chemistry and support each other and help each other.”
Defenseman Keith Yandle
“It’s been a very humbling week, to see how excited my teammates were, the coaches, the GMs, the owners, everyone involved. Super super humbling week for me…You expect the silver stick, which is an amazing thing, but when I saw that golf cart…it’s something that every day when you see it you’ll be reminded of it.”
“It’s an amazing thing the amount of love that the guys have to think of me like that and my family. It was special.”
“Against a great team, to get that win is huge. Bob played amazing, we had some timely goals. Barky, every night he does it…it was a great team win and definitely means a lot more when you get that when and be able to smile in the locker room to put the icing on the cake for the day.”
