INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee’s Megan Walstad is the Nike® #HLWBB Player of the Week after leading the Panthers to a 2-0 sweep at Green Bay this weekend, averaging a double-double of 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. Wright State’s Emani Jefferson earned Nike® #HLWBB Freshman of the Week honors for her performance in the two Raider victories at Detroit Mercy this weekend.

Walstad dominated this weekend, helping Milwaukee earn a season series sweep on the road at Green Bay. The sweep of GB was the Panthers’ first since 2005-06. In two victories, Walstad averaged a double-double of 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from the floor, 42.9 percent (3-for-7) from three-point range, and a perfect 6-for-6 at the line. Walstad totaled 16 points and eight rebounds on Saturday and followed with a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double on Sunday to lead MKE to a win over the Phoenix. Additionally, Walstad added three blocks, and a steal in the sweep. Walstad currently leads the league in rebounds per game (10.3) and ranks ninth in scoring (12.2 ppg).

Emani Jefferson tallied five points against Detroit Mercy on Saturday, pulling down six rebounds and going a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line and 1-for-1 from the field in just 11 minutes of play. Sunday’s contest was much of the same for Jefferson, as she scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds. The North Port, Fla. native finished the contest 2-for-4 from the field and 3-for-5 from the line while also tallying one assist, one block and a steal.
