BOCA RATON, Fla. – (April 17, 2019) – Florida Atlantic University beach volleyball players Erica Brok and Mackenzie Morris were named Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Pair of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. This is the first time ever that FAU has had a pair earn the award.
Brok and Morris, who shared the CCSA Freshman of the Year Award last season, closed out the 2019 regular season on a high note, with a pair of victories over pairs from 10th-ranked Stetson on Friday. In the first match, Brok and Morris had to overcome a first set loss to Darby Dunn and Sammee Thomas, rallying to take the match in three sets. In the nightcap, they defeated Ana Costa and Rachel Noble in straight sets. On the season, they have a 15-9 record, including 12 in straight sets and extended their school-record career win total to 40.
FAU will travel to Emerson, Georgia this weekend for the CCSA Tournament. The Owls are the No. 6 seed and will face 10th-seeded UAB and third-seeded FIU on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively.
