DALLAS – Conference USA announced today that is has joined the ALL IN Campus Challenge, a national awards program created to recognize colleges and universities for their commitment to increasing student voting rates. The Challenge encourages higher education institutions to help students form the habits of active and informed citizenship, make participation a core value on their campus, and cultivate generations of engaged citizens.”
“We are listening to our student-athletes and understand their endeavor to use their voices to make a difference. Our participation in the ALL IN Challenge supports the next generation of informed and involved citizens,” C-USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod said. “It affirms our commitment to our student-athletes to ensure they make their voices heard and are engaged participants in the 2020 election and beyond.”
“Non-partisan engagement in the electoral process is a life skill all student-athletes, all students in general, should learn. At the ALL IN Challenge, we’re grateful to Conference USA and the respective institutions of the conference for prioritizing such a skill,” ALL IN Campus Challenge Director of Strategic Initiatives Stephanie King said.
By joining the Challenge, the league has made the commitment to developing and implementing an action plan to improve civic engagement at each member school, with the assistance of a designated committee of relevant stakeholders on each campus. Participation in the ALL IN Challenge will also be considered part of the school’s community service efforts that contribute to the league’s SAAC Cup.
The ALL IN Challenge does not support or oppose candidates for public office or take a stand for or against any political party. It encourages active and informed participation in American democracy.
