Jenkins is the second former Bull to enter the WNBA bubble, joining Courtney Williams of the Atlanta Dream.
TAMPA (Aug. 17, 2020) – Former University of South Florida women’s basketball standout Alisia Jenkins signed with the WNBA’s Indiana Fever on Monday. Jenkins is the second former Bull to enter the WNBA bubble in Bradenton, joining Courtney Williams of the Atlanta Dream.
Jenkins joins the Fever after the club announced that guard Victoria Vivians will be out indefinitely due to a right knee injury.
“We are glad to bring in Alisia to join our team because of her rebounding and defensive abilities,” Indiana Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Tamika Catchings said. “She will be a great asset to our team because of the intensity she plays with on both ends of the floor.”
“I am very proud of Alisha getting the opportunity to play for the Indiana Fever,” said USF head coach Jose Fernandez. “This opportunity is a credit to her and her work ethic, and her desire to keep chasing her goals, dreams and aspirations. She has put in a tremendous amount of time playing in various countries and with several teams, and that hard work has paid off.”
The 6-foot-1 forward most recently played with TFSE-MTK in the Hungary A-Division. In 20 games, she averaged a league-best 22.4 points and 12.3 rebounds, as well as 2.6 steals and 2.3 assists per game. She was voted the All-Hungarian League Defensive Player of the Year and won Hungarian A Division Player of the Week twice this past season.
Jenkins played for the Bulls from 2012-16. Jenkins’ name is cemented atop the USF record books, most notably as the school’s all-time leading rebounder with 1,284 boards. Jenkins is third all-time in blocks with 159 and she’s the 14th all-time leading scorer for the Bulls with 1,282 points. Jenkins started 119 of 132 games played with South Florida.
The Fever will be back on the court on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m., when they face the Connecticut Sun live on CBS Sports Network. Jenkins and Indiana will face Williams and Atlanta on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m.

USF notched its ninth consecutive 19-win season and was poised for its ninth straight postseason appearance in 2019-20 before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the end of the college basketball season. The Bulls celebrated two all-conference honorees in Elena Tsineke and Elisa Pinzan. Tsineke was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, in addition to The American All-Freshman Team and Third Team All-Conference; while Pinzan was named a Third Team All-Conference selection.
USF has made 15 postseason tournament appearances and had six NCAA Tournament berths in head coach Jose Fernandez’s 20 seasons. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Fernandez has guided USF to nine 20-win seasons, two WNIT final four appearances, the 2009 WNIT championship and won more than 350 games.
