Picture Taken August 11th. DB And LB meeting at Camp

By: Jeremy T. Ballreich

So, the week started with a few injury scares in Allen Park. As we heard 3 key names left practice early. Jahmyr Gibbs (Hamstring strain), Terrion Arnold (Pectoral Strain), and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (Ankle Injury). By Thursday, Rakestraw was working in the sidelines with trainers and coaches. Good thing none were long term dehabilitating injuries.

Stock Up:

Sione Vaki RB, had a good week at Camp, and a better day on the field versus the Chiefs. Four receptions with 60 yards, and another 51 on the ground.

Isaiah Williams WR, had a game whether with the starters or the 3rd Stringers. He continues to show why he should make this team.

Hendon Hooker QB, after his okay showing in the first preseason game. He came roaring back game two. 12-15 150 yards, and rushed a touchdown in from nine yards out. Had a QBR of 108.3.

Mathieu Betts, Isaac Ukwu, and Josh Pashcal had key 3rd down sack opportunities. They did not miss!

Stock Down:

Nate Sudfeld QB, while he did complete a pass to Kaden Davis, who turned in into a long 61 yard TD. It was mostly due to Kaden and his legs, not a strike that out fear into the opposing team. He also threw another INT.

Donovan Peoples-Jones WR, continues his lackluster effort on the field when others are starting to shine.

CJ Moore SS, key missed tackles, and poor coverage. Not making a very good case to keep him on the roster.

Chris Smith DT, the former Notre Dame standout, well he’s don’t very little to show he is NFL Ready. Don’t think he returns even to the PS.

Injuries:

Malik Jefferson LB, was placed on the IR.

TrèQuan Smith WR to the IR.

Signings:

Joel Iyiegbuniwe LB picked up. Played for the Brahmas in the UFL. Spent time on the Bears, Seahawks, and Panthers. Logged 1334 Special teams snaps in his tenure.

Bubble Watch:

List of players I think eont make the active roster at this point.

Netane Muti G

Zonovan Knight RB

Jake Funk RB

Jermer Jefferson RB

Daurice Fountain WR

Kingsley Eguakun C

Bryan Hudson C

James Houston DE/LB

Steven Gilmore CB

Kindle Vildor CB

CJ Moore SS

Hogan Hatten LS

These are the ones I observed who has done very little to make a case to make the team.
