X-Factor

X-FACTOR: INF Xavier Edwards made an impressive return to the Marlins lineup yesterday, recording a career-best five hits while tying a franchise record (done 23x previously and last by Jesús Sánchez on Sept. 17, 2024 vs. LAD). Through 144 career games (2023-25), Edwards owns a .308 AVG (160×520), .372 OBP, and a .745 OPS, and yesterday became the ninth player in the Modern Era to have a cycle, a five-hit game, and a three-triple game in their careers, joining the following list of players: Jim Bottomley, Bill Bradley, Joe DiMaggio, Patsy Dougherty, Charlie Gehringer, Baby Doll Jacobson, Nap Lajoie, and Ross Youngs. Edwards is the first to accomplish all three feats since Joe DiMaggio. (credit: Sportradar).
