| 1/16/2025 | Women’s Tennis BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic women’s tennis defeated No. 23 Miami by a 4-1 score on Thursday morning at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center. The win marked the first time in program history that the Owls proved the victor against the Hurricanes. The Owls came out strong in the clinch-clinch format by capturing the doubles point. Newcomers Malwina Rowinska and Lara Smejkal captured court one doubles with a 6-4 score. The point was secured on court three by sophomore Panna Bartha and senior Lexi Silna.FAU took the lead on nearly every court, but the bottom half of the lineup powered the team to the win. Senior Millie-Mae Matthews was the first singles court winner with a straight-set 6-3, 6-2 victory. Rowinska gave the Owls a two-point lead with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court four. Silna then served as the hero again, clinching the FAU match with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win on court five.
