| 6/24/2024 | Women’s Soccer BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women’s soccer program announces Lexi Gonzalez and Leila Etemadi as their captains for the 2024 season. Goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez appeared in 14 games and started in 13 for the Owls in the 2023 season. She was a two-time AAC Goalkeeper of the Week recipient. Gonzalez recorded 60 saves on the season, improving to 100+ career saves. The Goalkeeper registered 1136 minutes last season, finishing with a 5-4-3 record.Junior Midfielder Leila Etemadi started in 11 of the 19 games played in the 2023 season for Florida Atlantic. Etemadi was named 2023 CSC All-District Academic Team. She totaled 1111 minutes last season. QUOTABLE Head Coach Patrick Baker “We are excited to have Lexi and Leila leading our team in 2024, they will do a great job as young captains. The team had a very productive spring season, and both young ladies emerged as tremendous leaders. Our “Live Like Champions” programmatic theme is shown through both Lexi and Leila.
