WSOC | The Owls Delivered the Diaper

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic’s women’s soccer team hosted the University of Miami last Sunday in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw. While no team came away with a victory on the pitch, there was still a winner. It was The Soup Kitchen of Boynton Beach. As part of the team’s ongoing efforts to give back to the community, a diaper drive was held in conjunction with the Taking Care of Our Babies program. Thanks partly to the record opening week crowds, the Owls delivered nearly 75 diaper packages to the Boynton Beach location on Monday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez, Midfielders Noa Olivia Ganthier and Madison Villanti, Defender Lelia Etemadi, and Midfielder were the lucky diaper delivery team.
QUOTABLE
Head Women’s Soccer Coach Patrick Baker
“Thank you to everyone who brought a pack of diapers to the game Sunday night. We are very pleased that we could help our friends out at the Soup Kitchen in Boynton Beach. You helped to make this a successful event both on and off the field.”

The Owls have enjoyed large crowds and hope for the same this Thursday, Aug. 22nd, when they play host to FIU at 7 p.m. at FAU Soccer Stadium. The Owls hold a two-match winning streak versus FIU and are 6-11-1 all-time at home versus the Panthers. FAU shutout the Panthers 2-0 in last season’s match back on Sept. 24.
