TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Florida Atlantic women’s soccer will travel to face the University of Alabama on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 8 p.m. EST to close out the month of August and then return to Paradise to take on the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m.
Florida Atlantic (0-2-2) will remain on the road to play Alabama (3-1-0). The match will air on SEC Network+. The match on Thursday evening will mark the second time in program history that these two teams will face each other (the last matchup was Aug. 19, 2022). The last time the Owls were scheduled to play Alabama in the FAU Football Stadium resulted in a weather delay. The match was continued the following day in the FAU Soccer Stadium where they fell 4-0. Coming off back-to-back road matches before returning home, Florida Atlantic will have played in two great crowds and will have the chance to play in front of Owl Nation on Sunday afternoon against Stephen F. Austin.
The Sunday afternoon matchup to take on Stephen F. Austin marks the first meeting between these two programs. On Sunday, the match will be aired on ESPN+. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. All home games at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- Head Coach Patrick Baker is in his 12th season at the helm for the Owls
- Baker is the only women’s soccer coach in history to go to a Division I, II, and III postseason tournament
- Florida Atlantic is in its second year in the American Athletic Conference after making it to the AAC Semifinals last season
