Sharks Defeat Dustdevils, Move to 2-0

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla – The Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team continued their successful opening weekend, as they knocked off Texas A&M International 2-0 to move to 2-0 on the season. The Sharks were aggressive from the outset, getting a goal from freshman Lova Korpas seven minutes into the game. Later, at the 53:03 mark of the second half, sophomore Alexa Bereczki found the back of the net again, scoring her third goal of the season and pushing the Sharks’ lead to 2-0. NSU outshot the Dustdevils 14 to 5, with six of those shots on goal.

How it Happened
  • Lova Korpas picked up right where she left off, scoring her second goal in as many games on a setup from Alexa Bereczki. The Sharks continued applying pressure the rest of the half, but kept their one-goal lead heading into the locker room.
  • Eight minutes into the second half, Bereczki got past the Dustdevil defense and scored the Sharks’ final goal, giving them a two-goal lead. The Sharks held the Dustdevils scoreless the rest of the way and secured their second win of the 2025 campaign.

The Sharks will prepare for a two-game road trip, as they travel to Mississippi College for a 3 pm tilt on Thursday, September 11.
