Women’s Diver Camyla Monroy Named SEC Co-Diver of the Week

The sophomore tallies her second SEC weekly award of the season on Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For her winning efforts in the No. 3 Florida women’s victory at Georgia on Nov. 1, sophomore diver Camyla Monroy was named SEC Women’s Co-Diver of the Week, as the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Monroy swept the women’s springboard events to remain undefeated so far this season at the Gators 158-142 team win on Friday. The Laz Paz, Mexico native posted a career-high 361.43 on the 3-meter. while scoring a 296.03 on the 1-meter.

It marks her second SEC weekly award this season and seventh of her career.

The Gators return to Athens on Nov. 20 for the Mid-season Georgia Invitational. The three-day invite runs through Nov. 22 with prelims starting at 9:30 a.m. ET and finals at 5:30 p.m. ET inside Gabrielsen Natatorium. Florida swept last year’s Invitational, as the men’s team scored 453.5 points and the women’s team finished with 357.0 points.
