BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team (10-10, 8-8 in Conference USA) has earned the No. 3 seed in the East Division at the 2021 Air Force Reserve C-USA Women’s Basketball Championships. The Owls will face the winner of the No. 6 vs. No. 7 West play-in game on Tuesday, which is set to be a matchup between No. 6 UAB (9-12, 3-11 C-USA) and No. 7 UTSA (2-17, 0-14 C-USA). FAU’s game on Wednesday, against the winner of the play-in game, will tip off at 3:30 p.m. (EST) on ESPN+.
FAU trails UAB in the series, 10-2. The Owls have not played the Blazers this season, but fell in last season’s matchup, 92-73. FAU is 7-5 against UTSA, sweeping the Roadrunners in the series in mid-February with 72-59 and 79-50 victories.
The Owls are looking for their first C-USA Championships win, and first conference tournament victory since the 2011-12 season.
