Whyte Competes at NCAA Semifinals on Thursday

BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the first time in the history of the Florida Atlantic University track and field program, the Owls will have a runner in the NCAA Finals. Natalliah Whyte will represent FAU as she heads to Austin, Texas to compete in the 100 meter semifinals on Thursday. The race begins at 9:16 p.m. (EST) and will be broadcast on ESPNU.  

Whyte is one of 24 runners in the 100 meter dash semifinals. There will be three heats of eight runners with the top two times from each heat and the next two fastest times advancing to the finals on Saturday.

At the East Regional, Whyte ran her season best time of 11.16 which currently ranks as the seventh best time in the NCAA. Kayla White of North Carolina A&T has the top time at 10.96. Whyte’s personal best time is 11.04 which she ran at the SEC Championship last season while at Auburn.

Whyte is one of only six from Conference USA to compete at the NCAA Championship on the women’s side.
