MAHOMES, KELCE & JACKSON SEEKING CAREER MILESTONES IN KICKOFF GAME

The KANSAS CITY CHIEFS begin their quest to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls by hosting the BALTIMORE RAVENS in the league’s annual primetime Kickoff Game on Thursday (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC), a rematch of the 2023 AFC Championship Game. It marks the third time in which the Kickoff Game features a rematch of one of the previous season’s conference championship games.

The Chiefs and Ravens have been among the most successful teams in Week 1 in recent history, with Kansas City having won eight of their past nine games on Kickoff Weekend, and Baltimore winning seven of their past eight.

Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES enters his eighth NFL season and ranks second in both passing yards (28,424) by a player in his first seven seasons, and touchdown passes (219). He has 45 career games with at least 300 passing yards and 17 career games with at least four touchdown passes, both the most-ever by a player in his first seven, eight and nine seasons.

With 300 passing yards on Thursday night, Mahomes will surpass MATT RYAN (45 games) for the most such games by a player in his first 10 career seasons in NFL history.

On the opposing sideline will be Baltimore quarterback LAMAR JACKSON, who won his second-career Most Valuable Player award last season after totaling 4,499 yards (career-high 3,678 passing, 821 rushing) and 29 touchdowns (24 passing, five rushing). He enters the 2024 season as one of four quarterbacks all-time with over 5,000 career rushing yards (5,258) and has totaled at least 50 rushing yards in 54 career games.

With at least 50 rushing yards on Thursday night, Jackson will surpass MICHAEL VICK (54 games) for the most games with at least 50 rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL history.

HURTS & LOVE FACING OFF IN BRAZIL

The PHILADEPHIA EAGLES and GREEN BAY PACKERS will meet at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil on Friday night (8:15 p.m. ET, Peacock) in the NFL’s first-ever game in South America.

Last season, Philadelphia quarterback JALEN HURTS totaled 15 rushing touchdowns, tied with Buffalo’s JOSH ALLEN (also 15 in 2023) for the most rushing touchdowns ever by a quarterback in a single season. Hurts enters his fifth NFL season with 41 career rushing touchdowns, the fourth-most by a quarterback in league history.

With two rushing touchdowns on Friday night, Hurts – who holds the NFL record among quarterbacks with 12 career games with multiple rushing touchdowns – will tie Pro Football Hall of Famer STEVE YOUNG (43 rushing touchdowns) for the third-most rushing touchdowns ever by a quarterback.

BURROW APPROACHING 100 TOUCHDOWN PASSES

Since entering the league as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Cincinnati quarterback JOE BURROW has totaled 14,083 passing yards and 97 touchdown passes in 52 starts.

STAFFORD SHINES IN SEASON OPENERS

Entering the 2024 season, Los Angeles Rams quarterback MATTHEW STAFFORD has 4,392 passing yards in 15 career starts in Week 1. He has totaled at least 300 passing yards in eight of those starts.

MCCAFFREY CAN SET MARKS ON MONDAY NIGHT

Las Vegas’ DAVANTE ADAMS has totaled at least 100 receptions in each of the past four seasons, becoming one of four players all-time to reach the 100-catch mark in four consecutive seasons. His 95 career touchdown receptions are the most among all active players, while his 872 receptions and 10,781 each rank fourth.
