INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The NCAA released the field of 48 teams and 24 student-athletes competing as individuals that have been selected to participate in regional competition of the 2024 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf championship.
The third-ranked Nova Southeastern Women’s Golf team, under the direction of Head Coach Heather Wall, has been chosen as the second seed in the South Regional. NSU finished the 2023 season as NCAA national finalists. The Sharks have won four events during the 2023-24 season, with Ellen Andersson (South Region Preview, 9/19; Saint Leo Invitational, 10/17) and Maia Samuelsson (World Golf Invitational, 2/6) added individual wins for NSU. Nova Southeastern placed second at the Sunshine State Conference tournament earlier this month.
The NCAA South Region tournament, which will take place at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, TN., features a field of ten nationally ranked programs, representing the Sunshine State Conference, Peach Belt Conference, South Atlantic Conference, Gulf South Conference and Conference Carolina. No. 3 Nova Southeastern will be competing against No. 2 Flagler, No. 6 Anderson, No. 8 Rollins, No. 10 Barry, No. 11 Lynn, No. 15 Saint Leo, No. 16 Lee, No. 19 Wingate, No. 20 Limestone, West Florida and North Greenville.
The NCAA Division II women’s golf regional competition will be conducted from May 6 – 8. All participants will compete through 54 holes of competition with the top five teams from the south region advancing to the NCAA national championship tournament in Orlando, Fla., from May 21 – 25.
