TAMPA, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks were defeated by the third-ranked Tampa Spartans in Sunshine State Conference action on Friday evening from the Bob Martinez Sports Center.

- The Spartans jumped out to an early lead, claiming the momentum at the beginning of the first set, as the Sharks trailed 9-4.
- Following a timeout, Nadia Lindner put the score at 12-7 with a kill.
- NSU wasn’t able to put together much momentum and dropped the opening set 25-9.
- Nova Southeastern rallied with a 3-0 run – receiving points from Kate Mihacevich, Taylor Stockman and a service ace from Elizabeth Price – putting the score at 5-4.
- Nadia Lindner recorded two consecutive kills, before Brittany Landrum added a point of her own, making the score 10-9, in favor of the Spartans.
- Tampa closed out set by a score of 25-15, taking a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Spartans took control early in the third set and led 8-3 over the Sharks.
- Lindner and Mihacevich recorded back-to-back points for NSU, cutting into Tampa’s lead.
- NSU dropped the SSC match in three-sets, dropping the final frame 25-14.
