USF WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PREPARES FOR NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT WITH LOADED NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

–Bulls set for marquee matchups at home and tournaments in Las Vegas and the Bahamas–

TAMPA, Fla., August 6, 2025  The University of South Florida women’s basketball team has announced a competitive 2025-26 non-conference schedule that features 13 games, including matchups against perennial NCAA Tournament powerhouses and participation in two high-profile tournaments.

The Bulls non-conference schedule includes matchups against the 2025 NCAA National Champion, three teams that reached the 2025 NCAA Final Four and six teams that played in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

The Bulls tip off the non-conference schedule on Nov. 3 at home against FIU, followed by another home contest versus Long Island on Nov. 7. USF will then travel west for the WBCA Challenge in Las Vegas, where they will face Fairfield on Nov. 13 and Final Four participant UCLA on Nov. 15.

USF returns to the Yuengling Center to host a Duke program that finished last season ranked in the top-25 on Nov. 20. Last year, the Bulls’ non-conference schedule was highlighted by a 65-56 home-win over No. 9/10 Duke. That victory marked the 22nd-ranked win in program history, head coach Jose Fernandez’s 20th-ranked win, and the program’s 30th win over a Power Five opponent.

Another marquee stop awaits as the Bulls head to the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship, held Nov. 24 and 26 in Nassau, Bahamas. The tournament features an elite field, with Alabama, Belmont, Harvard, Minnesota, Ohio State, and West Virginia among the seven confirmed teams outside of USF. All participating teams reached postseason play last season, including five that earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Following the international trip, the Bulls return home to face New Orleans (Nov. 30), then the reigning national champions – UConn (Dec. 3), and Houston Christian (Dec. 5) in a trio of games at the Yuengling Center.

The Bulls first true non-conference road test comes against Vanderbilt on Dec. 15, as the Bulls face a Commodores team that competed in last season’s NCAA Tournament.

The Bulls schedule will finish up with two more home battles: South Carolina on Dec. 18—2024 National Champions and last season’s runner-up— and Navy on Dec. 21, closing out the non-conference slate.

“This non-conference schedule will challenge us early and prepare us for what lies ahead in conference play,” said head coach Jose Fernandez. “We’ve built a schedule that will test our team against some of the best programs in the country—on the road, on neutral floors, and right here at home in front of our fans. Between the trips to Las Vegas and the Bahamas, and hosting powerhouses like Duke, UConn and South Carolina at the Yuengling Center, we’re putting our team in a position to grow, compete, and get national exposure.”
