USF WBB: Carla Brito Double-Double Delivers Bulls Victory Over Florida Atlantic, 85-59

Tampa, Fla. – Jan. 18, 2025 – Junior forward Carla Brito (14 points, 15 rebounds, six assists) collared a double-double in the first half of South Florida women’s basketball (12-8, 5-2 AAC), 85-59, victory against Florida Atlantic (9-10, 1-5 AAC) in the Yuengling Center on Saturday night.

Brito’s double-double performance marked her fourth of the campaign. Graduate guard Sammie Puisis (15 points) connected on five 3-pointers, which noted her 12th game of the season with 3 or more triples. Senior forward L’or Mputu (13 points) logged her seventh game of the year in double digits. Graduate guard Mama Dembele added 10 points and a team-high five assists.

Florida Atlantic was led by Mya Perry with 14 points.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

In the third frame South Florida put together a 19-7 scoring run, which put the Bulls up 18 points, 61-43. Puisis led the charge with nine of her 15 points coming in the stretch. In the final frame of action, USF’s lead ballooned to as many as 27 points.

NOTABLE NUMBERS
