TAMPA, Fla. April 29, 2021 – The University of South Florida softball team head coach Ken Eriksen looks to guide his program to victory 1,000 with him at the helm as East Carolina visits USF Softball Stadium for a four-game weekend set.
Eriksen would be the 28th NCAA Division-I head coach to complete the feat, and the second who did so entirely at a Florida school, joining JoAnne Graf at Florida State. Eriksen has reached this mark via 16 seasons with 40+ wins, including six 50+-win seasons and a 60-win season. In his time with the Bulls, he has coached the team to 14 NCAA tournaments, including two Super Regional appearances and a Women’s College World Series berth in 2012.
The Bulls will also recognized six seniors who will graduate in spring 2021 on Sunday. AnaMarie Bruni (Schwenksville, Pa.), Riley Gore (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Brooke Hartman (Port Orange, Fla.), Kelsey Lay (West Palm Beach, Fla.), Brooke Leistl (Valrico, Fla.) and Kyndall Williams (Trenton, Fla.) will all be honored for their commitment and dedication to the USF program since the 2017 season. While with the team, these seniors have helped USF appear in two NCAA tournaments and capture two American Athletic Conference titles. Overall, the seniors have assisted in posting a 152-87 record while with the team.
USF leads the all-time series, 24-11. The Bulls took the last meeting in the series, a 3-2 win in eight innings on April 7, 2019.
