The senior has earned both honors so far this season after back-to-back stellar weekends
TAMPA, Feb. 21, 2022 – University of South Florida softball student-athlete Georgina Corrick was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week to start the 2022 season.
Corrick (Sanford, Fla.) went 3-0 in the circle at the talent-filled St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational, including a victory against No. 7 Oklahoma State, the team’s highest ranked win since the team defeated No. 9 Arizona in 2019.
Overall, throughout the weekend, Corrick threw three complete games, including a shutout, limiting teams to just 10 hits and one earned run while tossing 28 strikeouts. This season, Corrick is 5-0 with a 0.21 ERA in 34.0 innings, limiting opposing hitters to a .144 average and striking out 50.
Josie Foreman (West Palm Beach, Fla.) joins Corrick in the conference’s weekly awards, being named to the weekly honor roll for her efforts.
Foreman is one of many hitters swinging a hot bat in USF’s lineup currently. She finished her weekend at the Elite Invite with a .556 average in nine at-bats with an RBI and a key double to start the offense against Oklahoma State. She also assists Corrick in the circle, working with the pitcher to call pitches in game.
