Birmingham, Ala. – Oct. 31, 2024 – South Florida men’s soccer (5-5-4, 3-3-0) will close out the regular season at UAB (4-5-5, 1-3-2) on Friday, Nov. 1 in Birmingham, Ala. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m., and the match will air live on ESPN+. The Bulls will see AAC Tournament action, and the seeding will be announced over the weekend.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Bulls wrapped up October with a record of 2-3 and are looking to snap their two-game losing skid. USF is holding onto third place in the AAC standings, meaning a home league tournament game could be on the horizon.
The Blazers are looking to get back in the true win column for the first time since Sept. 24 and are looking for their second conference win.
SOUTH FLORIDA-UAB SERIES
Friday night is the 19th all-time meeting between USF and UAB, and the pairing spans back to the 1983 season. The Bulls lead the series against the Blazers (12-5-1). In their last clash, the Bulls picked up a 2-1 win at home (Oct. 21, 2023).
LAST TIME OUT
South Florida fell to Tulsa, 2-1, last Saturday night. In the 57th minute, John Adekunle secured his first career goal assisted by Lovro Kostanjsek. Adekunle became the ninth USF performer this season to score their first career goal. It was Kostanjsek’s first assist of the season and the third of his career.
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS
UAB ended in a tie in their Sunday night clash against Charlotte, 0-0. Three players lead the team with three goals. The Blazers are 0-4-2 in their last six matches.
A LOOK AHEAD
After Friday’s match, South Florida will begin AAC Conference Tournament action. Dates, times, and matchups will be announced at a later time. All games are broadcast on ESPN +.
